Photos: Farming Is A Lucrative Venture - Aminu Gamawa

Malam Sani is a graduate of Political Science, University of Maiduguri. He is very hardworking, innovative and entrepreneurial. Many years after graduating from the university, he couldn't find a good paying job. He became a farmer, growing rice, sorghum, sesame, etc.
Sani is not rich, but he is contented and happy. His farming business has been growing every year. He employs about a dozen people to assist him. His farm is located in Gamawa LGA.
He told me that if he gets a good government job he will take it. If he doesn't get a good job he will focus on his farming business.
If all Nigerians, especially the educated ones, will think and act like Sani, it will reduce the rate of unemployment in Nigeria.

Getting a government job is good. But government cannot provide employment for everyone. There is a big and lucrative opportunity in the Agric sector.
There are many young people who want to go into agricultural business. They need capital, land, fertilizer and other support. We hope the new government will encourage and support agriculture.
I wish Sani, who is my good friend and immediate younger brother, all the best. People like Sani need support and encouragement. May God give us the ability to support them.
