Seventeen people died on Tuesday evening after a bus they were travelling in collided with a truck, at Igushin Town, along Ondo-Ore Expressway in Ondo West local government area of Ondo State. Witness said the 18 seater bus somersaulted several times after colliding with the truck before bursting into flame,only one person survived the accident .
Mr Akin Akin Adedipe the state Sector Command of the Federal Road Safety Corps who confirmed the Incident described the vehicle as a white Mazda 18-passenger bus with registration number BWR 116 XC and a white DAF Truck with registration number AAA757XN.
He said those dead include 11 males, six females and one male child whose identities were yet to be ascertained,and the only survivor is severely injured.
He said the deseased has been taken to the mortuary of the State Specialists Hospital in Ondo town.
