Governor Shettima Appoint Board Of Workers That Will Be Working Together In Power With Him


Governor Kashim Shetima has submitted a list of 21 nominees for confirmation by the Borno State House of Assembly as Commissioners.
Acting in pursuant to section 192 (2) of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, 1999, Governor Shettima has sent a letter to the Speaker of the Borno State House of Assembly requesting that the 21 nominees be confirmed.

The 21 nominees are as follows: Hon. Usman Ali Zannah, Hon. Musa Inuwa Kubo, Adamu Alhaji Lawan, Hon. Babagana Tijjani Banki, Hon. Kaka Shehu Lawan, Hon. Sugun Mai Mele, Dr. Haruna Mshelia, Hon. Mustapha Fannarambe, Alhaji Mohammed Kauji, Dr. Babagana Umara Zulum, Hon. Fanta Baba Shehu, Hon. Ahmed Usman Jaha, Hon. Zainab Gimba, Hon. Yerima Lawan Kareto, Baba Magaji Wamdeo, Hon. Inna Galadima, Dr. Mohammed Bulama, Hon. Abubakar Ibrahim Babale, Hon. Waziri Imam, Hon. Ali Abatcha and Hon. Mohammed Aliyu Dili.
Governor Kashim Shettima has also sent names of 27 persons to the Assembly for confirmation as caretaker chairmen of the 27 local government areas in Borno State.
Shettima's request was in line with section 81 (4) (a) of the Borno State Local Government Law 2000 (Amended).
The Governor also sent names of nominees as councilors for all the wards across the State.
The 27 nominees as caretaker chairmen include the following:

4. BIU- Habib Mohammed Yusuf
5. BAYO - Hon. Maigari A. Abare
6. CHIBOK- Bana Lawan
7. DAMBOA- Al-Amin Mohammed Gumsuri
8. DIKWA- Mohammed Ali Gana
9. GUBIO- Zannah Modu Gubio
10. GUZAMALA- Goni Gana Lawan
11. GWOZA- Ibrahim Abba Chupun
12. HAWUL- Alh. Modu Saidu Kwaya Bura
13. JERE- Bulama Mustapha
14. KAGA- Hon. Mohammed Buji
15. KALA-BALGE- Babagana Malarima
16. KONDUGA- Bukar Modu
17. KUKAWA- Hon. Modu Alh. Bukar
18. KWAYA KUSAR- Salihu A. Yanga
19. MAFA- Shettima Maina

In a related development, Governor Kashim Shettima has reconstituted the Borno State Universal Basic Education Board with Dr Shettima Bukar Kullima as Chairman while Engineer Mohammed Gambomi Marte is to serve as member 1. Also are Alhaji Ibrahim Modibbo as member 2, and Ali Abatcha Umar, member 3.
Governor Shettima has in compliance with section 198 of the 1999 constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria requested the Borno State House of Assembly to confirm the appointments.
Governor Kashim Shettima has also reconstituted the Borno State Teaching Service Board with Dr Suleiman Bello as Chairman; Alhaji Modu Gofar Mintar as member 1; Alhaji Mohammed Bukar Kolo as member, 2 and Dr Gimba Amadu as member, 3.
The Governor has in compliance with section 198 of the 1999 constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria requested the Borno State House of Assembly to confirm the appointments.
Governor Kashim Shettima has also appointed Engineer Satomi Ahmed as Executive Chairman of the Borno State Emergency Management Agency, SEMA.
The agency is to have Bulama Dawud Kyari as Secretary while Baba Mohammed Alhaji Usman, Alhaji Bulama Kime Jere, Hon. Dala Muta, Hon. Usman Dina, Hon. Abba Ali Mangal and Abba Kawu Marte is to serve as members of the Agency.
The Governor has in exercise his powers as provided by section 198 of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria requested the Borno State House of Assembly to confirm the appointment.
Governor Kashim Shettima has also appointed Malah Mustafa Kukawa as Commissioner V to make him a member of the Borno State Local Government Service Commission.
The Governor has requested the Borno State House of Assembly to confirm the appointment. The Governor's action was also in line with section 198 of the 1999 constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
The Governor made a total of seven different appointments, all of which await confirmation by the Borno State House of Assembly.
Governor Shettima deemed it necessary to reduce the number of ministries from 24 to 21 in line with his administrations policies of restructuring government machinery for better performance.
All appointments were made to ensure a good balance of the various components that make up Borno State. Those appointed were carefully selected based on their individual track merit.
The Governor anticipates the cooperation of the Borno State House of Assembly which has extended very cordial working relationship with the executive arm of Government.
Governor Shettima assures the good citizens of Borno State of his administration's overriding commitments to delivering on his campaign pledges to make Borno a greater place for all.
