Some Boko Haram Terrorists Has Begin To Surrender Willingly

Scores of Boko Haram terrorists have surrendered to troops in the Operation Lafiya Dole offensive while more are willing to surrender. The positive development was recorded at the weekend. Army spokesman, Colonel Sani Usman attributed the development to new strategies employed by the military which have started yielding positive results. 

The new strategies employed included sustained offensive operations, pre-emptive air strikes by the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) and blocking of Boko Haram escape routes by the ground troops all geared towards constricting and snuffing out the terrorists. 

Many of the terrorists who surrendered told stories of mass panic and hysteria among their colleagues in Boko Haram camps who are feeling the impact of the relentless efforts of the troops going after them.

The Army has vowed to sustain the pressure in conjunction with NAF and other security agencies to bring Boko Haram terrorism to a speedy end.

It is also prepared to receive more surrendering suspects while assuring that the innocent ones among them would be given due consideration. 

In addition, Colonel Usman also expressed the Army’s appreciation for the great support and valuable pieces of information it has been receiving from well-meaning citizens, adding that more of such assistance are required to quickly obliteration of the Boko Haram scourge in the country.
