It has always been said that our daily habits make us who we are
so it makes sense that every thing we have achieved today is largely
based the ingrained traits in us.
So what are the thing we do that are stumbling blocks to our wealth? A few of them are listed below;
Procrastination:
If you are someone who
procrastinates a lot, it would have a negative impact on your life. When
you are used to pushing everything you have to do until the last
minute, or until you can push it no more, you find it difficult to
manage your time. And you know what they say, ‘time is money.’
Bad saving habits:
A lot of people are guilty of
this. Do not underestimate the importance of having money saved up. No
matter how little, it is important to store some specific amount of
money in your savings from time to time.
Work hard, play harder:
Some people believe that
because they work so hard, they should spend a lot on relaxing. This is
wrong. Working hard is what you need to do, but when you spend so much
money to relax, you soon find that all you are doing is earning money to
use to play/unwind. You will find that you have not achieved much else
with your life as time goes by.
Laziness:
Some people are simply lazy. They find it
difficult to take a step towards actually doing something. Even when
they have a job, due to their laziness and their tendency to just do the
bare minimum, it would be hard for them to experience career growth.
Rigidness:
There are a lot of people that are so set
in their ways that they will not even consider anything different from
what they know. If you find that you are struggling so hard in your
chosen career line, it could be a sign that you should change course.
The fear of change has led a lot of people to stay on a dead end path,
while ignoring opportunities that could have changed their lives.
Impatience:
Yes, you should not be too rigid, but
you should also not be so in a hurry for wealth that you do not give
something a chance to grow. It takes time to amass wealth, and there
would be difficulties at the beginning, but as long as you are making
progress (no matter how little it seems) then you should keep at it and
persevere.
Blabbermouth:
Some people talk. A lot. And when you
spend so much time talking, you spend less thinking. Being wealthy
involve giving yourself time to think and come up with ideas. Also, a
lot of blabbermouths have found that the things they say have led them
to lose opportunities.
Envy:
When obsessed with other people’s wealth, you
only bring negative vibes into your own life. Avoid being so focused on
others that you forget to focus on yourself. Wealth means different
things to different people. So when you are comparing yourself to
someone else because they drive an expensive car, you might forget that
this does not mean they have it all. Instead of letting envy rule your
life and drawing wrong conclusion, why not just diligently do your work
and focus on your own plans.
Being comfortable:
Yes, being in your comfort zone
is great, but no one ever achieved anything by continuing to do only
what makes them comfortable. The wealthiest people in the world will
tell you that, at some point, they have to leave what feels comfortable,
into the realm of the unknown.
Bad budgeting habits:
Do you budget? You ought to.
Budgeting is a great way to prevent spending on things you do not need.
Make a list of what you need to live, from most the important to the
least and budget some specific amount towards each. Learning this as
early as you can will teach you how to manage money as it comes. People
who do not know how to manage money will most likely not be able to
amass wealth.
