Vanguard reports that a middle-aged man (name withheld) has slaughtered his four children and attempted to kill himself.
The man was said to have committed the act after a tussle with his wife on Wednesday, November 18, 2015, over undisclosed reasons.
His neighbors, who narrated the ordeal, informed that the man had quarrelled with the wife throughout the night and had forced her to vacate their apartment on Ahmadu Bello street in Kawo area of Kaduna metropolis before allegedly locking the entrance to his house and slaughtering his four children between the ages of six and one year.
It was his fifth child, who was not in the house as at the time he was carrying out the dastardly act that alerted the ward head of the area.
All the children had been found dead as at the time neighbours and police officers forced the door to the house open but the man was still alive in spite of the suicide attempt.
Zubairu Abubakar, the police spokesman in the state, confirmed the incident, stating that the man and the children had been conveyed to St Gerards General Hospital in Kakuri, Kaduna and that full investigation had been commenced into the matter.
An American woman is also facing life jail after being found guilty of killing her baby daughter by placing her in a microwave oven for two minutes in Sacramento, California.
