It is not every day that Nigerians get to see and interact with their favourite celebrities for free.
But some Nigerians in Ibadan and Lagos were lucky to spend time with
pop diva, Tiwa Savage and popular comic act, Afeez Oyetoro aka Saka
yesterday, January 12.
The popular acts made surprise visits to the MTN mega centres in Ibadan and Lagos to encourage subscribers on the MTN network to register their mobile SIM cards in line with NCC’s directive.
In Ibadan, Saka in his usual comic mood enlivened a surprised and
hitherto weary crowd as he made his way around the large registration
points in Adamasingba stadium.
His presence was greeted with tumultuous cheers. Saka had time to take photos with his fans and also gave gift items to some of them.
The mood was not different in Lagos either as Tiwa Savage engaged subscribers one-on-one in the SIM registration exercise. She equally enjoined the subscribers to be patient and assured them of MTN’s commitment to the process as directed by the NCC.
More celebrities who are MTN ambassadors also expected to go to other mega centres include Don Jazzy, Tiwa Savage, Davido, Harrysong, Iyanya, Kcee, Nkem Owoh and others.
Following series of complaints from some subscribers over its registration exercise, MTN revamped the existing registration centres and introduced the mega registration centres nationwide.
