Extreme Jealousy: Man Sets Wife Ablaze For Attending Party In Ogun

A middle-aged man in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital, Keji Osunjirin, has been arrested by the State Police Command for allegedly murdering his wife, Fatimo, by dousing her with fuel and setting her on fire because she disobeyed him and went to a party.

According to reports, the angry husband had earlier beaten his wife in the daytime after she refused to adhere to his instructions not to attend the party, only for him to come back home with the keg of petrol and emptied the fuel on his wife before setting her on fire

Efforts made by neighbours to save the life of the woman reportedly went in vain as she died in the inferno.

But speaking on the incident, Okunjirin said the fire was an accident and that he mistakenly threw the petrol keg on his wife after it caught fire in his own hands when he was pouring it into the generator.
